Thermo pine for lamellae cladding tops the favourites list. The wood is quite popular due to its warm appearance and beautiful knots that give buildings a varied look. In addition, pine is budget-friendly and, not least, it meets the fire safety requirements, B-s2,d0.

Thermo pine premium

Thermo pine premium is chosen when you want brownish lamellae with an almost crack-free structure. This results in a facade with a very clean and exclusive look.

The properties are the same as thermofyre with very high dimensional stability, long lifetime and B-s2,d0 documentation.

Western Red Cedar

Western red cedar is a good choice for lamellae cladding. It is not heat-treated but has a natural resistance to rot and fungus, similar to heat-treated wood.

The wood species also has a low density, which provides good insulation and a light and soft material to work with. Despite this, it is quite durable and has a long lifespan. It is also end-use tested as a facade system with a documented fire rating.

Thermally treated ayous is a wood species with a very low density and quite high dimensional stability, so the wood does not warp.

Accoya

Accoya is a beautiful sustainable material with Cradle to Cradle Gold certification. The look is bright and natural, the quality is high and the lifespan is an impressive +50 years.

The wood is not thermo-treated, but manufactured through a process where its cell structure is modified to improve its resilience and dimensional stability.

Accoya is suitable for buildings where the fire classification D-s2,d2 can be used.

Woodfac Click is an open system with optional timber lamellae on an underlying aluminium structure. With views of the building's load-bearing facade, it is possible to compose a living architecture, created through light, shadow, materials and design.

The system offers corner solutions, various cover profiles, solutions for curved Facades as well as reinforcement profiles that enable large clearances both horizontally and vertically.

Woodfac Click is particularly suitable for cladding parking garages.
The open facade system makes it easy to give parking garages a certain wow effect. Many parking garages are built among beautiful apartment buildings and why not make them as inviting to look at as their environment and surroundings.

With wooden lamellae as cladding, you have the opportunity to construct beautiful and timeless parking garages with a natural and warm appearance that develops a beautiful patina over time.

Woodfac Panel is a closed system that acts as a building envelope. The system consists of optional wooden lamellae mounted on aluminium panels.

The aluminium panels protect the building from the weather and have an underlying ventilation system that allows the facade to "breathe".

The panel solution includes variable single, double and corner panels with punched holes for facade screws that are hidden when the panels are clipped together.

The system offers a wide range of accessory profiles for finishing and framing doors, windows (glazing profiles) and other facade elements.

Wooden slats

Wooden slats are produced from FSC® or PEFC™ certified wood with a guarantee of responsible and sustainable forestry.

Cradle to Cradle certified fire retardant is used for fireproofing wood slats, which consists of 100% natural substances, is 100% biodegradable, non-toxic and free of VOC emissions.

The thermal treatment of the lamellae ensures dimensional stability and unique longevity with a durability of up to +50 years, depending on the wood species.

Thermal movement

Thermal movement refers to the natural expansion and contraction of materials as a result of temperature changes.

Thermal movement is integrated into all our facade solutions, allowing the individual components of the systems to move individually in relation to each other. This ensures that there are no internal stresses, strains or structural damage in both individual components and as an overall facade solution.

Aluminium structure

The structure and profiles of the facade system are made from certified recycled aluminium.

Greenline® aluminium is 100% collected and recycled aluminium with a very low carbon footprint of only 1.8 kg CO2-eq/kg compared to primary aluminium, which has a footprint of 11.1.

Fire resistant facade system

At Nordisk Profil you get facade systems with full fire approval and documentation that comply with international standards.

The lamella cladding is end-use tested and documented according to EN 13501-1 according to standard EN 13823.

Woodfac is thus a system solution that meets the fire requirements according to EN 14915. EN 14915, and is the only facade system on the market that has been tested and passed the B-s1,d0 and B-s2,d0 classification.

We have also tested and passed the reaction-to-fire facade test according to ISO 13785-1 with guarantee and quality seal for fire-resistant materials.

Nordisk Profil advises on fire classes, requirements and documentation for Facade solutions with wooden slats and helps to ensure passive fire protection in the initial phase of the building project.

OUTDOOR WOODEN LAMELLAE,
WHEN THE FACADE NEEDS TO IMPRESS

Wood is a great carbon reducing material to use as an outdoor facade panel.

Nordisk Profil recommends different types of wood, all of which are particularly suitable for exterior cladding due to their dimensional stability, resistance, durability and fire class.

They vary in expression in terms of colours and knots, but regardless of type, facade lamellae will patina over time and give a look in more greyish tones and shades. The patination depends on location, but will always be affected by the surrounding environment,

There may be a desire to install pre-patinated lamellae, which we did with our Papirøen project. Here, all lamellae are patinated identically before installation - a process that Nordisk Profil handles in collaboration with the architect and client.
