Timber as an Architectural Design Element

At Birkeparken in Odense, Woodfac Click has been used as a complementary design element around the balconies, where the timber lamellas break up the light-coloured facade and add variation to the building's distinctive appearance.

Nordisk Profil delivered the solution in Thermo pine with 34x85 mm lamellas. The spacing between the lamellas varies across the facade with a c/c distance of 185.5 mm, creating a dynamic and varied expression while allowing the lamellas to become a natural part of the building's architecture.

The project demonstrates how Woodfac Click can be applied to selected areas of a facade – such as balconies, entrance areas or other architectural features where a distinctive yet balanced design element is desired.

Woodfac Click can be tailored in terms of timber species, lamella dimensions, spacing and positioning, allowing the solution to support the desired architectural expression.
