Aksen, DLG Headquarters
Architecture with warm details
When DLG relocated from Axelborg in Copenhagen to its new headquarters in Fredericia in 2020, the building was named Aksen.
With its distinctive architecture, beautifully integrated into the surrounding environment, the project was awarded Office Building of the Year in 2021. The building was designed by PHL Architects.
The building combines several materials, but here we highlight the entrance area, featuring Woodfac Panel with timber lamellae. The solution features 34x34 mm lamellae made from thermally modified ayous, a premium timber species with warm brown tones and an almost knot-free surface.
Thermal modification improves the wood’s dimensional stability and resistance while extending its service life by reducing moisture content and breaking down the wood’s natural sugars. The result is a facade with clean lines, a refined texture and long-lasting durability.
At Nordisk Profil, you get more than facade systems that have been fire-tested and classified in their end-use application. You also gain a professional partner who can advise you on fire safety strategies and documentation.
