Søndre Havn car park
Functionality with Architectural Character
In Køge's (Denmark) new district, Søndre Havn, a six-storey parking facility has been built with space for 433 cars. In the basement, a skate hall has also been established.
The architectural expression is dominated by wood, and Nordisk Profil has delivered a customised solution based on the Woodfac Click facade system with thermally modified pine lamellae. The lamellae are installed at angled positions, creating a dynamic and rotated facade that supports the building’s distinctive architectural style.
The wooden cladding is complemented by aluminium lamellae from the Napsu system, forming striking frames around the wooden sections and emphasising the natural character of the wood.
The facade solution blends beautifully with the parking structure’s glass rotund a and themasonry’s texture, creating a cohesive and a esthetically pleasing overall expression. This project is a strong example of how different materials can complement each other and contribute to a playful and vibrant architectural design.
At Nordisk Profil, we tailor all facade systems to match customer needs and project requirements and we are happy to develop new solutions in close collaboration with architects, engineers and other building professionals.
For this project, we also delivered the integrated safety barrier INTEGRA-pw, which is tested and approved in combination with our facade systems. The result is a strong and documented solution offering full safety.
