206 youth housing units with architectural variety
Nordstern has just developed and built 206 new youth housing units on Amager. The atrium was designed by Danielsen Arkitekter and consists of two five-storey longhouses, a large glass-covered atrium courtyard and a shared roof terrace.
The building's architecture is characterized by a great variety of materials. The construction is made of concrete and clad with ribbed concrete, red bricks and Lamellae in both wood and aluminium - giving the facade a dynamic and vibrant expression.
Nordisk Profil has supplied all Lamellae for the facade, designed in the dimensions 42×42 mm with a cc distance of 79.5 mm.
The sustainable Greenline aluminium lamellae are finished in RAL 7008, which creates a beautiful interplay with the warm shades of the red bricks. As a contrast and additional design element, Lamellae in thermo pine is also used, especially around doors and windows, as well as on the roof terrace and technical buildings - here in the form of our Woodfac Click.
The aluminium panels are installed with our Napsu facade system, which - like Woodfac Click - is an open facade system that allows a clear view of the building's supporting structure. This allows you to play with the choice of materials and look of the facade structure - and create architecture with great visual freedom.
Whether you choose wood, aluminium or a combination, the systems can also be delivered as closed solutions that act as a building envelope and protect the building from the elements.
All solutions from Nordisk Profil comply with fire requirements and can be supplied with fire-impregnated Lamellae with full fire technical documentation and a certificate for the CO2 reducing aluminium.
